Community Trademark (CTM) system
Community trademarks (CTM) are valid in Lithuania from May 1, 2004.
CTM filed before that date were automatically extended to LT. Automatically extended CTM cannot be invalidated or cancelled on absolute or relative grounds that existed before May 1, 2004 however owners of earlier national or international marks extended to LT that had been filed or having priority before that date may prohibit use of the automatically extended CTM in Lithuania.

CTM may be converted into a national mark in Lithuania. The procedure of obtaining protection in Lithuania for a converted CTM is the same as for national marks: official examination, publication, opposition period, grant of certificate.
