National Phase of PCT applications
Lithuania is a member to the Patent Cooperation Treaty of June 19, 1970,
consequently the Lithuanian Law provides for protection of patents filed by
this system: either in Lithuania or in a foreign country.
The following documents are to be submitted to the SPB in this country for
entry into the national phase of a PCT application:
The provisional protection of a PCT application becomes effective from the
date on which the Lithuanian translation of the claims is published in the
Lithuanian SPB Official Bulletin.
After payment of the official fee for grant of the Lithuanian patent, the
invention is entered into the LR Patent Register. Then follows grant of patent
and its publication in the LR Official Bulletin.
The period of the patent validity as well as the periods for payment of annual
fees are calculated from the date of filing the PCT application.
